Cliff Cooper

Cliff Cooper was married to Cheryl in 1982. They have 2 adult children, Cassie and Clint.

Cliff graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible. He attended 1 year at Mid-America Baptist Seminary, and then graduated with an M-Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1990. He also completed 8 hours further work on a Master of Theology degree at Southwestern in 1997.

His pastorates include Afton Baptist Church, Afton, Texas 1981-84; Interim pastor at Craft Rd. Baptist Church, in Olive Branch, Mississippi; Pastor of Obrien (TX) Baptist Church, 1991-92; Pastor of North College Avenue Baptist Church, Snyder, TX, 1992-98; Pastor of First Baptist Church, Murchison, TX, 1998-2005; and was the founding pastor of Grace Baptist Van, TX in 2005.

Cliff was converted at an early age, but by age 16 began running from the Lord and His will for his life. At the age of 23, God got his attention, and put him back on a road of serving Christ in 1979. In 1981 he was called to pastor Afton Baptist, where within six months, he came to a knowledge of the doctrines of grace through a friend’s giving him reformed literature, including Today’s Gospel, by Walt Chantry. For three years he was privileged to sit under the ministry of Pastor Fred Malone while in seminary at Southwestern.
